simplyserah:
Serah realized that something she said had struck something in Sora’s mind. Maybe Sora was a lot like herself in some way, but she didn’t dwell on that long. She gave a small smile to Sora, even though two minutes ago she had just screamed in her face. But Serah was like that. At one point she can be angry and screaming in your face, and the next moment she’s smiling as though the screaming never even happened. It was something that happened a lot.
Even this moment remembered her of arguments with Lightning. It reminded her of what happened after they argued. Lightning would be silent, and when she did finally speak, she’d just change the subject, and Serah would just smile and pretend like the argument never happened at all. Sora seemed so alike to Lightning that it scared Serah. If Serah was arguing with anybody else, for example Snow, he would end up going on and on about how sorry he was and Serah wouldn’t know what to say. But not with Lightning or Sora. The way she made up with those two was different.
As Sora asked where they were going, Serah realized that she didn’t actually know. She just knew she had to look for Lightning. And Noel was off somewhere with Mog because Serah told the two of them to bond, so it was really just her and Sora. Should she just leave with Sora, or wait for Noel and Mog to return? But if she went with Sora, she could possibly find Lightning faster. And because of that, she decided to go with Sora. She’d find Noel and Mog later. Mog would be able to find her later anyway with his moogle powers, and Serah could make her own bow. She preferred the bow over the sword anyway.
“Um. Well I’m trying to get to a place called Valhalla. That’s where Lightning is, but I don’t really know how to get there…”
Sora took a moment to ponder based on what she was given, though having only a name to go by would be difficult. ‘Valhalla’ huh? She searched through her mind, repeating it again and again to see to see whether or not such a name was familiar to her somewhere in the midst of all her thoughts and present recollections. But she was drawing a blank. A shake of the head was followed by a crossing of arms across the chest.
“What do you know of Valhalla? Anything will do… unless you prefer to aimlessly wander about in hopes of stumbling across an entry?”
Which, might she add, was clearly not a serious suggestion. But she was not a native to these lands, so anything was possible. The woman had nothing to lose if that was the selected decision. Wandering was all she ever did anyhow, so not even time would be wasted during this.
